For the past 30 days I have not had more than 4 hours of sleep…until last night.
Everyone had their solutions and I tried all of them, even sleeping pills, BUT I still woke up at 3 am and called it a night.
Here is a list of what I tried to get me to sleep (this does not mean these things don’t work, but that I was not aligning myself to the real truth of an important matter).
- Acupuncture
- Advil PM
- Bendryl
- Yoga, head stand and plow pose (before bed)
- Stopped going to gym thinking their was too much stimulation here
- No radio, TV or any sounds at all in the evening
- No caffeine after 10 am
- Ate only light foods or not after 8pm
- Meditation
- Meditation tapes
- Hypnosis for sleep improvement (mine and other hypnotists)
- Journal writing
- Sleeping Pills
- Hot baths
Sometimes I did all of these on the same night (ha!) but still nothing was working. I even used Positive Self Talk during the day, “I sleep deeply and soundly all night because I expect to sleep, it is natural to sleep.” Then I would visualize myself curled up sleeping like a child.
So why did I sleep last night?
Before bed I used a hypnotic suggestion that I use all the time with clients. In a trance state, I said to myself, “as I sleep deeply and soundly all night, allow my subconscious mind to vent out any inner conflicts.” And I had some very interesting dreams, one of them about the overflowing toilet with you know what going everywhere. But, it worked, I vented out what I needed to and woke up at 7 am, it was a little shocking at first, but then extremely satisfying. So, maybe I was just tried and finally ready, who knows for sure. But I can say that today I feel like a new person, not just that I am more rested but that I feel more balanced and creative today, so perhaps I was able to let go of all the crap I needed to, the cool thing is, I didn’t have to know what it was. It doesn’t matter because it is gone.
I think I have just decided that whatever I experience is training for the work ahead, it makes me a more effective hypnotist.
Now I know what if feels like to be sleepless and when a client reports they don’t sleep well I can put my hand on my heart and say, “I know how that feels, let me see how I can help you with that.”
Hypnosis for Sleep Improvement or Sleepless Hypnotist. Call if you need assistance with releasing the inner conflict that is keeping you awake. The answer is not in a pill, but in your mind and I can take you there with hypnosis.
Sleep well!
